What is going on after the "Great Abysmal Summer,"

Hello Sheeple!

Most of you know that summer hit our clan kind of hard, and we are back to rebuilding our clan.  Many changes have occurred, specifically:

• Luna had to leave because she's homeschooling her kiddos and she couldn't juggle everything, so she left the clan to me and my co-leader, Raven.
• Our numbers are down.  We have eliminated most of the inactive players, so who we have is who we have.  This is a good thing because this shows us our true clan strength.
• Several of our leadership programs broke down over the summer due to all the inactivity, so we need to relaunch the mentorship program as we bring more people into our clan.

This all might seem kind of depressing, but even the strongest clans go through periods of weakness and strength.  It's a process of separating the wheat from the grass.

This is what we need you guys to do:

• CLAN CHAT: This can not be overemphasized.  This is, believe it or not, the foundation of a good clan.  We are going to start requiring people to speak up (at least say hi) a minimum of once a week, in order to remain a member of the clan.  Clan chat is what builds up the relationships within the clan, and will help us exchange gear, experience, and other resources.
• Forge, forge, forge: We will be posting new "forging" goals for each level, which we will help each achieve.
• Build. Up. Your. City:  This may seem basic, but soon it will cost us gold and/or silver in order to war as a clan, so we are going to need everyone's cities to be producing as much silver as possible at all times.
• DOWNLOAD LINE:  We used to require Kik messenger, so we could communicate outside of the game with our clanmates, but (lets be honest!) Kik kind of sucks for group communication.  We will be asking everyone to download "LINE Messenger."  Once you do you will be added to a group chat for our clan.  It's much easier than Clan Chat, although we will continue to talk there as well.

I will continue to update this.  Please review our "rules and expectations" and our "mission statement."  Also, if you're a "veteran Sheep," we are going to assume you are able and (hopefully) willing to mentor a couple of the younger sheep as I'm going to seriously buckle down and start recruiting.  IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE A MENTOR just send me a PM and I'll make a note of that,  no hard feelings!

Our newfound goal is to be "butt-kickin' ready" to war by January 2, 2014.  It took Death (run by Blonde Goddess) almost 8 months to build her clan from scratch, we aren't starting from scratch so I'm hoping that we can be war ready on Jan 2.

Lets have some fun!  Please feel free to recruit anyone you feel might be a good addition to our clan.  Raven or I will be interviewing potential clan additions over the next few weeks and very actively recruiting, so lets get ready to have some fun!

Clan Member Standards and Expectations

Clan Member Responsibilities and Expectations:

1.  Love thy clanmate as thyself.
2. Work as A TEAM to build a stronger, cohesive team that has a whole lot of fun.
3. Participate in Clan Chat as often as possible, and touch base with your clan leadership AT LEAST WEEKLY (See Clan Mentorship/Leadership Program).  Also, for purposes of private chats, and especially warring, we are now requiring all Sheep to register with LINE messenger.
4. Forge without Ceasing.
5. Build up your City.
6. Represent your clan by behaving well in Global Chat.  Please.
7. Be sincere, honest, and straight-up: we are good friends here and this is a safe space for us to escape our stressful, drama-filled lives.  We don't want any wolves in sheep's clothing!

History of AoC's Black Sheep

 Black Sheep History : This clan was opened on April 12, 2013 as Luna and Cobra felt a need to start a clan to help new members grow throughout the game.  Luna and Cobra are farmers, most especially sheep farmers, so the idea of a "NO BS clan for Noobs," was born.  However, as our unique worldwide memberships began to emerge, and black sheep from around the world converged, it became clear we were more than just a "HelpU" type of clan.  We went from being individual sheep to being a cohesive flock, at which time we began to realize that we were more than a "No BS clan for Noobs.". Around the same time, Admin opened their own "HelpU" clan for Legion and we realized we were ready to take our clan to the next level.

Over the summer of 2013, just when our clan hit it's strongest, the "Great Abysmal Summer" hit, and was our clans' first "dry spell."  When fall came, our dear sweet Luna had to resign as leader because, while she is superwoman, homeschooling three of her kids was taking up too much of her time and so she had to take a break from AoC.  She left Daenaries as clan leader and Raven as co-leader and we are currently back to building and forging to rebuild the greatest clan that AoC has ever seen. :)

Black Sheep Mission Statement

We are a flock, so our main focus and drive is inward: we protect our own.  We are friends first.  Just as each individual sheep is counted by a shepherd (they actually do get counted, btw!), each member of this clan is an important member. As we grow together as a clan we will grow as individuals simply by default; and as we grow as a clan, holding ourselves to the standards we set forth as a whole, we will also build a stronger AoC community as well.  We all win by working together and playing fairly. In addition to friends, and clanmates, we are warriors and this is a war game, so the bounds of our friendship, loyalty, trust, respect, and even love are enhanced every time we go into battle and fight for, and with, each other.  We have the potential and the people to become the strongest fighting force Legion has ever seen: thus our mission is simply to tap into that potential and have a lot of fun doing it.

Sheeple Internal Mentorship Program

Guys, our Mentorship program is pretty much down right now but Raven and I will be getting it running again soon. In the meantime, these are the old guidelines for the mentorship program, we will be sticking closely to the prior mentorship program because it did seem to work well.  We are open to suggestions, though, so please if you have any, let us know! Muah! 

Purpose: to build our clan strength from the inside out, and to share the leadership responsibility amongst core clan members so that we can all spend more time playing.

Responsibilities of the Assigned Mentors:  The assigned Mentorship Program is being created to help build cohesiveness and team-unity.  Thus, it is the mentors responsibility to do what they can to improve the clan, and AoC community, as a whole.  The mentors should check in with their sheep regularly, and a mentor should monitor each sheeps' progress.  A mentor is not someone to do all your work for you, but a guide and encouragement as you progress through this game.  

Responsibilities of the Jr. "Sheeple":  Just as the senior clan members have responsibilities to the Jr. Members, the Jr. Members have a responsibility to their mentor.  We believe this clan has incredible untapped potential, but unless we all contribute we will never completely utilize that potential.  As a Jr Member, you have the following responsibilities:

1.  Follow the Flock Rules at all times (See Flock Mission Statement/Clan Members Responsibilities/Statement).
2.  As mentioned in the flock rules, touch base with your clan leadership at least weekly (if you are going to be out of town for a bit or something please let us know).  Inactive members (members we haven't seen, heard from, and are not progressing in any way) will initially be placed on a 14-day probation period and then routinely removed from the clan.  THIS IS NOT US BEING MEAN, we just want to take this clan all the way to the top, and in doing so, we need strong, active players of all levels and skill strengths.  If a player wishes to rejoin the flock, he/she must reapply and (if accepted) be placed on a period of probation.  
3.  As also mentioned in the flock rules: "Forge Without Ceasing.". If you are not forging something for yourself, check with your Assigned Mentor and let him/her know that you have a forge slot open. Recall that many of us have paid 250g-900g in order to have a second and third slot open, so they could build gear for clanmates.  It seems pretty straightforward gear should be constantly forging inside our free slots, right?

You may hear us instructing you over and over to build up your city.  Well today, Jphoc, AKA JP, helped to make a google docs spreadsheet with (most) of the silver buildings and their daily silver incomes, once they reach a level five.  I was absolutely shocked at how quickly some of these numbers add up! You'll see that not all the buildings have been filled in quite yet as I am still building up my city.  If you guys know some of the missing information it would be super helpful to me if you would tell me how much silver YOUR level 5 buildings are bringing in (if I haven't listed them in the spreadsheet already).  Also, this is preliminary spreadsheet, only including those buildings purchased with silver.  Later I will add the information for the gold buildings.

Building up your city is very important, it can bring in silver to continue to sustain you throughout the game.  Please build build build!!!

We are very limited in our clan space. So we decided to branch out and utilize some of Google's vast internet-universe space so we could improve our communication and build our strength as a clan.  I will be posting new information very soon about our clan!
